Forwarder's tools

Work out trailer space and plan the delivery date

Two tools our forwarders use for every quote. You can move the result to your request with one click.

LTL calculator

How much space will your load take?

Enter your pallets and we will show how they fit on a 13.6 m trailer and how many loading metres (LDM) they take. That decides whether you pay for a part load or whether a full truck makes more sense.

1 LDM is 1 metre of trailer length at 2.4 m width. A EUR pallet takes 0.4 LDM. We stack pallets up to a combined height of 265 cm. For heavy loads the carrier may price by weight instead.

    Delivery planner

    When will the goods arrive?

Choose the route and the loading day. The planner takes into account weekend and holiday driving bans in every country on the way and seasonal restrictions in Romania.

    Journey plan

The planner is indicative. It assumes a single driver covering about 600 km a day with breaks under Regulation (EC) 561/2006, and the driving bans for vehicles over 7.5 t (12 t in Poland). We confirm the exact date in the quote.

        As of October 2026

Rules on the route from Italy to Romania

Italy has the most extensive driving ban calendar in Europe. Add to that the checks at the Slovenian-Hungarian border.

        ALL YEAR · ITALY

Around 80 days with a driving ban

In Italy, trucks over 7.5 t do not drive on Sundays and public holidays (usually 9:00-22:00, from 7:00 in summer), and in July and August also on selected Saturdays and Fridays. We plan collections so the truck crosses the border before the ban starts.

        ROUTE · SLOVENIA, HUNGARY

        Via Trieste, Ljubljana and Budapest

From northern Italy we take the A4 motorway to Trieste, cross Slovenia (DarsGo electronic toll for vehicles over 3.5 t) and follow the Hungarian M7 to Budapest. From there the corridor is shared with loads from Poland: Szeged, Nădlac and the A1 motorway.

        2026 · AUSTRIA, SLOVENIA

Border checks on the way to Hungary

Austria runs temporary checks at its borders with Hungary, Slovenia, Czechia and Slovakia, and Slovenia at its borders with Hungary and Croatia until 21.12.2026. This can slow down the crossings, so we build in a buffer.

        FROM 1.10.2026 · ROMANIA

TollRO replaces the rovinieta for trucks

Vehicles over 3.5 t now pay for every kilometre driven on Romanian motorways, expressways and national roads. For a 40 t Euro VI combination that is 0.48 lei/km on the motorway and 0.24 lei/km on a national road. The toll is included in our price.

        FAQ

Questions about the Italy - Romania route

How long does transport from Italy to Romania take?
A full truck usually takes 3 days to western Romania and 4 days to Bucharest and Constanța from loading. Italian weekend bans can lengthen the journey if the load is ready at the end of the week.
Which way do you drive from Italy to Romania?
On the A4 motorway to Trieste, through Slovenia into Hungary, along the Hungarian M7 to Budapest, and on via Nădlac or Borș into Romania.
When is the best time to load in Italy?
Monday to Wednesday. That way the truck leaves Italy before the Sunday ban, and in summer before the Saturday ban too.
Are there checks at the Slovenian-Hungarian border?
Yes, Slovenia is running temporary checks at its borders with Hungary and Croatia until 21.12.2026. We add a margin for the crossing.
Do you carry tiles from Sassuolo?
Yes. Tiles are a heavy load, so please give the pallet weights in your request so we can choose a truck for the axle loads.
        Who pays the road tolls?
We do. Italian motorway tolls, Slovenian DarsGo, Hungarian HU-GO and Romanian TollRO are included in the price.
Will you collect pallets from several places in Italy?
Yes. We can plan several pick-ups, for example in Bologna and Verona, for a single transport to Romania.
